Savor the Season: What's New on the Dining Scene in Steamboat

Steamboat’s dining scene is as lively and welcoming as the town itself. Rooted in the area’s Western ranching heritage and with an abundance of locally-produced ingredients, the culinary options are always evolving with fresh flavors and creative new concepts. Whether you’re craving elevated après, comfort food, or an award-winning wine list, here’s what Steamboat is serving up new this season.

The former Mahogany Ridge location downtown is now home to 5th Street Kitchen, opened by the owner of Après Burger at the ski area. While you can still order a burger, the 5th Street menu has more elevated offerings such as Colorado lamb chops and blackened shrimp tacos.

Another long-standing favorite, Three Peaks Grill, closed its doors and the space got a makeover for The Lounge | E3 Kitchen + Social Club. A sister concept to the popular E3 Chophouse downtown, The Lounge brings a lively energy with steaks on the menu, a raw bar, and an emphasis on seafood.

Meanwhile, the longtime site of Carl’s Tavern has been reimagined as Cypress, a restaurant dedicated to comfort food “where slow-country fare meets high-country vibes.” Cypress comes from the owner of Primrose, which recently earned Wine Spectator’s Best of Award of Excellence.

Primrose wasn’t alone on the list of Steamboat restaurants recognized by Wine Spectator in 2025. Café Diva and Harwig’s, both perennial honorees, also secured prestigious awards for their exceptional wine programs.

With exciting newcomers, fresh concepts in familiar spaces, and award-winning wine lists, Steamboat’s dining scene has something for all tastes. Whether you’re looking for a lively night out, a cozy spot for comfort food, or a refined culinary experience, the town’s tables are ready to welcome you this season.
