Perfect for our Large Family Group

Moving Mountains manages the best homes in Steamboat. We stayed this winter at Trails Edge Lodge an amazing slopeside home that was perfect for our large family group. Every couple had their own master bedroom and the kids loved the large dorm room. The family gathered daily in the kitchen / dining room and planned out their day while our chef prepared an amazing breakfast. The outdoor hot tub was the reward waiting for us after a big day on the mountain. The movie room was perfect to relax for a movie after dinner. It was all perfect! Moving Mountains took care of everything we needed before we arrived so that our ski trip was a breeze when we got here. The staff are very professional and seem to really enjoy what they do. Highly recommended!

I will never forget this vacation. The ultimate Steamboat experience.

This house is one of a kind. It's like being in ski heaven. I could not ask for anything more. Ski-in, ski-out to unbelievable Steamboat "Champagne Powder," a massive house to fit all of your friends and family, and a huge outdoor lanai and yard for the kids to play and sled in the snow. This house is very private and exclusive, unlike staying at condos near the base. I love to cook and the kitchen is perfectly outfitted and situated in the house. The kids had a ton of fun running around the house and playing in the huge living rooms and the play room that has a pool table and foosball table. The house was very clean and appears to have new furniture. The views from the house are very beautiful. If you like to make first tracks, the house is within a 5-8 minute walk to the Thunderhead lift. We had someone drop us off at the lift instead. You literally take 10 steps from the back door and you can ski down the private trail to the slope. One thing that I really appreciated, is that the house is on a green run. It makes it very convenient for beginners to ski down to the gondola. I even used that green run to get some exercise and walked to and from the base. Although the house is on the slope, it is just far enough that I never heard the grooming machines late at night. Moving Mountains was terrific in accommodating us and the shuttle drivers that took us all around Steamboat were very friendly. I've been to many different ski resorts in the US and Canada and I have to say that this was the best house I've ever stayed in by far. This vacation will be a family memory that we will never forget. We had a "once-in-a-lifetime" vacation this December and I hope we can do it again and again. Hopefully it is not sold out once others get to experience what we did.

Great location, tons of space, homey retreat in Colorado

Talk about the perfect family retreat! I'll never forget sitting in the gorgeous hot tub in the snow. With more than enough rooms, a spacious kitchen, and enough space for a small army, this house has everything you could possibly want for a ski trip with your buddies to a family reunion. It is very easy even for beginners to ski in and ski out of this property as it puts you right at the bottom of the mountain. It's privacy and silence makes it perfect to escape from the hustle and bustle of the lodge. I would come back here any day.

Everything Needed

We went with a pretty large group of 20+ people. The house had more than enough space, considering we had 10 young kids running around. The house had everything needed for our stay and the key thing for us was the ski runs was right outside of the house. That made it easier especially when the kids needed to go back to the house for a rest. Great experience and we can't wait to return!

Perfect for Families

We had a great time in Steamboat and the house was a major part of it. Each couple had their own room and all of the kids stayed in the "kids loft". They loved it and I think slept easier that way. We enjoyed making/eating meals in the open kitchen and grilling. The pool table was also another place to gather. It got a little warm a night without a/C but during the day it was fine. There is a peek-a-boo view of the valley that was probably spectacular before they built next door. Sarah at Moving Mountains was excellent and helpful on the phone. We all (19 of us)agreed we would be back!
