8 reasons why your ski vacation will be better than ever this year!

While nothing in 2020 is something we would have dreamed up, if you had to invent a vacation that is perfectly designed for our current times, it would have to be a skiing and snowboarding holiday!

Snowsports are naturally healthy with many of our current safety measures built right into what we wear. . Wearing a mask, goggles, and gloves on a ski vacation has always been quite normal, not the exception.

And though travel is a bit different these days, the human need to unplug, unwind and reconnect with loved ones outside of our own four walls is still the same as it ever was, perhaps even stronger now than before.

Here are 8 reasons why your ski vacation will be even better than ever this year!

Best ski vacation

1) More Value

You bought an Ikon or Epic pass, right? So you’re already getting more value. It was a great deal before, and, now, if you’re staying longer than usual, it’s an even better deal!

2) More Outside Time

If you’ve been trying to get your family outdoors for eons, then ski and snowboard vacations are perfect. There are no game consoles on a chairlift and the thrill of the chill is enough to untether anyone from their tech for the day.

With so much of life happening onscreen these days, you know your family members will benefit from cutting the cord for a few hours.

Additionally, the whole point of skiing is to be outside and socially distant. No one is skiing less than 6 feet apart from each other. And skiing requires layers of protective clothing. It’s the usual uniform, and always has been, it’s not something out-of-the-ordinary.

3) More Rooms to Roam

If you’ve always wanted to trade in that small hotel room for a spacious mountain cabin or luxury ski chalet, now you’ve got even more incentive to pick out that perfect ski vacation rental home you’ve been dreaming about on Pinterest.

Meals in your private home will be much more appealing, apres-ski on your own private deck (complete with outdoor hot tub and mountain views!) is much more inviting, and curling up on the couch with your loved ones will be much more comfortable and safer than rubbing elbows with strangers in a lobby.

Private vacation homes have always been the best option in our opinion, but now even more so! And we’ve always been ready for this moment as we have the best collection of ski homes and 5-star services than anyone else.

4) More Open Space (and More Private Space)!

With caps on how many can buy lift tickets, we expect the slopes will be less crowded than usual. In Vail, the entire early season is open just for Epic pass holders and Steamboat visitors have always benefitted from fewer crowds. Outdoor dining areas will be expanded with patio heaters and tented areas at all resorts. You can also take advantage of more unique outdoor experiences such as the outdoor luxury fur-clad dinner yurts at Steamboat’s Aurum restaurant or the private heated, cozy outdoor dining gondola cars and chef’s tasting menu at the Blue Plate in Avon/Beaver Creek.

5) More Delivery & To-go!

To-go menus and delivery used to just be limited to the local pizza joints, now the options are endless. 5-star takeaway for your chalet? No problem! Resort restaurants have perfected their plates for dining at home, with no cooking from the home chef required. Sup in your slippers without crowds or hassles when you take advantage of the many new to-go offerings you’ll be seeing at the resorts.

6) More Remote

If you are working remotely and your kids are studying remotely you could combine the two, come in the off-peak weeks (January/ Early Feb) and stay for twice as long, or longer… why not take advantage of this and work/study remotely in an actual remote (and stunning!) location? No Zoom virtual backdrop required!

7) More Snow

Ok well, we can’t actually guarantee more snow, however, if the last few years are any indication, we are in for some fantastic snowfall this winter. Plus, Vail, Beaver Creek and Steamboat have some of the most epic snowmaking systems in the country, and additionally, Steamboat is blessed with its infamous champagne powder. Bets from meteorologists are always on these three resorts for having the best snow at Christmas. We’re confident that conditions will be well worth the visit.

8) More Good Clean Fun

Planes, homes, and everything in between are being cleaned to the highest standards. Take basic precautions and this could be your safest travel experience ever.

We can’t wait to see you in Steamboat, Vail, or Beaver Creek this ski season. Don’t forget to book by October 31, 2020, to ensure the best luxury vacation rental and to guarantee a spot on the gondola and chairlifts for your preferred vacation dates.
