There’s something enchanting about Christmas in Steamboat. Picture you and your family in a Western-themed snow globe...think Santa on horseback and the sparkling lights in town in the shape of spurs! Step inside a snapshot of One Perfect Day during the holidays in Steamboat...
It starts with a picture-perfect home in a prime location - Starlight Ridge, a slopeside residence in the Edgemont. Sprinkle in some of Steamboat’s legendary Champagne Powder® and then wrap it all up with holiday activities and events.
Dive into One Perfect Day
at STARLIGHT RIDGE in Steamboat Springs:

Wake to witness the ski slopes that are covered with yet-untracked powder. At Starlight Ridge, you don’t even need to check the powder cam. Just step off your deck right on to the run to measure the inches (or feet!).

Or simply look out the massive picture window lining the open kitchen and living space, wrapped in a luxurious robe, and leisurely sip your coffee.

Those eager for First Tracks can grab their gear and go. They’ll ski right down to the lifts at the resort’s base area. Everyone else can take their time, enjoy breakfast, and get out on the slopes at their leisure.

When hunger calls or fingers and toes get chilly, ski right back into Starlight Ridge for lunch, hot chocolate, or a quick warm-up by the fire before heading back out. No clamoring chaos of the on-mountain lodge cafeterias.

For the littles in the group, you can walk or shuttle down to the base area to catch Santa riding in on horseback, as he does every year the week before Christmas.

As the ski day ends, the hot tub beckons. You return to Starlight Ridge for a soak in the outdoor hot tub. The kids will also delight in the year-round heated swimming pool. All while your private chef is preparing dinner in the home’s gourmet kitchen.

Then appetizers and cocktails flow, and you have a front-row seat from the comfort of your living room as the Holiday Drone Show, which kicks off Christmas week, lights up the sky over the ski area.

After dinner is served and stories of the day’s adventures are shared, everyone piles into the media room to watch their favorite Christmas movie.

Then it’s time to drift off in one of the home’s five beautifully appointed bedrooms, each designed for deep, restorative sleep after a perfect mountain day.
Of course, no perfect day in Steamboat comes together by accident. The Moving Mountains Guest Services Team is here to curate every detail—from chalet comforts to mountain adventures and holiday-week events. All you have to do is arrive, exhale, and enjoy the magic. Here are the team’s insider tips for a stress-free holiday ski vacation:
- Streamline Arrival: Use a pre-arrival grocery stocking service. Have ski and snowboard rentals delivered and fitted in your residence.
- Ship Ahead: Send luggage, ski gear, and holiday presents in advance. They can be waiting in your residence upon arrival, making the travel day significantly easier.
- Seamless Transportation: Fly into Yampa Valley Regional Airport (HDN), which receives direct flights from over a dozen major U.S. cities during winter. Arrange a private transfer for the 40-minute drive to the mountain. Once you’ve arrived in town, you’ll use the complimentary Moving Mountains shuttle to get around, so there is no need to hassle with a rental car and winter driving.
- Trimming the Tree: You can arrange to have a holiday tree delivered and set up. For a family activity, have the ornaments left in a box for a tree-trimming party on your first night.
- Skip the Lift Ticket Office: Pre-purchase your lift tickets through Moving Mountains and they will have delivered them to the residence prior to your arrival.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
