Sounds of Summer: Our Teams Favorite Concert Venues

Summer in the Colorado Rockies is pure magic—with long, warm, bluebird sky days that stretch into cool evenings when the mountains come alive with music. There's nothing like settling into an open-air amphitheater, drink in hand, watching the sunset over the peaks as the notes ring out. Whether you're looking for family-friendly venues or big-name acts in unforgettable settings, our team knows where to find the best seats and sounds. From Steamboat to Breckenridge to the Vail Valley, here are our staff picks for favorite concert and live music venues.

Steamboat
"Nothing beats a free outdoor concert at the base of Steamboat Resort! I am so excited to see MarchFourth play on July 4th as part of the Free Stranahan’s Concert Series in Steamboat Square. I’ve seen this band play twice and they do not disappoint. Imagine a Mardi Gras parade meets Cirque du Soleil! MarchFourth puts on quite the party with a stage full musicians…and acrobats!" - Mallory McCall, Guest Services Specialist

"Cruise your bike down along the Yampa River core trail to catch some casual, family-friendly free music!" - Kathleen Russell, Reservations Specialist

"Such a great way to spend a warm summer evening! The Summer Free Concert Series features nationally recognized bands performing at the base of the iconic Howelsen Hill in downtown Steamboat." - Teresa Wiedel, Brand & Guest Experience Manager

"I love live music and the Strings Pavilion is one of my favorite venues to listen to a concert. It's small (but there's still plenty of room for dancing in the aisles!) and intimate and attracts a variety of genres. I've been to everything from G. Love & Special Sauce to the symphony." Kate Pahula, Reservations Manager

Breckenridge

"The views of the Ten Mile and Gore Mountain ranges, and the view of the lake are breathtaking. It’s easy to get to, park, and see a great show. They have lots of genres of music entertainment." - Amy Davis, Director of Sales

"Fresh mountain air with lots of space to spread out and dance. Great views, great vibes!"- Kathleen Russell,  Reservations Specialist

"Favorite concert there was Clint Black" - Teresa Carpenter, Front Desk Specialist

"I'm a classical music nerd so I enjoy the National Repertory Orchestra concerts there. But there are plenty of other visiting performers." - -Teresa Wiedel, Brand & Guest Experience Manager

Vail Valley
"It's a beautiful outdoor venue with seating or bring a picnic dinner and set up on the lawn area.  Most Tuesday nights during the summer, they offer “Hot Summer Nights” which are free music concerts! Also, during the summer they showcase various orchestras and dance/ballet shows, in addition to musical acts." - Gaby Sirotkin, Guest Service Specialist

"Favorite concert there was Norah Jones" - Teresa Carpenter, Front Desk Specialist

"Enjoy live music while watching beautiful sunsets overlooking Nottingham Lake in Avon, at the base of Beaver Cree. Sunset Live Avon features free performances by mostly local bands. There are more free shows featuring bands from around the country at Avon Live on Wednesdays." - Gaby Sirotkin, Guest Service Specialist

"The Beaver Creek Village is the place to be on Saturdays for the The Beaver Creek Music Series. Free shows in a fun atmosphere. Sit on the lawn or bring a chair." - Gaby Sirotkin, Guest Service Specialist

"There are free concerts most Fridays right in the middle of Edwards. It's a true local feel…sit on boulders, the grass or bring your own chairs." - Gaby Sirotkin, Guest Service Specialist
