Top Summer Events in Breckenridge

Summer in Colorado is already a beautiful thing, but summer in Breckenridge is just plain fantastic! In addition to the plentiful sights to see and fun things to do, Breckenridge has several exciting summer events that you'll love taking part in. We're talking holiday celebrations, excellent live music, delicious dishes, and refreshing spirits all served up in a fun-loving and welcoming community.

Without further adieu, here are some Breckenridge events you can't miss this summer, starting with the 4th of July celebration!

Kicking things off in the summer is Breckenridge's annual Independence Day Celebration. Although fire restrictions ban the setting off of public or private fireworks in Breck, the town makes up for it with plenty of other festivities.

The day starts with a 10K fun run along scenic trails from 7-11 AM. In between the trail 10k, the Independence Day Parade and Firecracker 50 mountain bike race set off at 9:30 AM from Main Street. After the riders hit the trail for their 50-mile race, the revered annual parade marches down Main St. until 11:30 AM. Local speed skiing legend and Colorado Ski and Snowboard Hall of Famer, C.J. Mueller, will give a public reading of the Declaration of Independence following the parade at Blue River Plaza.

Once those mini-events finish up, there is an assortment of fun contests, games, and even a talent show at Cirque de USA from 10 AM to 3 PM. At 6 pm, head to the Riverwalk Center to celebrate Independence Day with the National Repertory Orchestra (NRO) Fourth of July Spectacular! The Fourth of July Spectacular is dedicated to all who have served and are currently in uniform with thanks from a grateful nation.

The event next up on the summer events itinerary is the lovely Breckenridge Food & Wine Festival. Over the course of 3 days, attendants can enjoy great food, live music, and picture-perfect mountain views while tasting from a selection of 300 fabulous wines.

Main Street Station Plaza and The Village at Breckenridge transform into a stunning mountain-side vineyard during the festival weekend where "refreshing" is the word of the day every day. Tickets can sell out fast, so be sure to reserve your Breckenridge Food & Wine Festival passes in advance!

Inspired by mountain culture and other environmental themes, the Breckenridge International Festival of Arts (BIFA) is an exquisite 10-day program of art and performance. Artists and creators from around the world come to this beloved summer event to showcase an eclectic mix of musical, visual, and performance art in our heavenly mountain setting.

If you're looking to see some truly unique multi-arts exhibits during your Breckenridge vacation, the BIFA in August is definitely the event for you! Be on the lookout for ticket sales to launch in late spring and early summer.

Last but not least we have the spirited event of Hogsfest: Bacon & Bourbon. Possibly the greatest food and beverage pairing to ever grace the Earth, premium cuts of meat, and even more premium whiskeys are the stars of this 3-day festival.

However, we have a habit of going above and beyond what titles suggest here in Breck. In addition to the bourbon, Hogsfest features other premium whiskeys, single-malt scotches, barrel-aged spirits, and beautiful craft cocktails to the tune of boogie-worthy live music. In terms of American party potential, it really doesn't get much better than premium beverages served with premium bacon in Colorado's ultimate mountain paradise.
