Mountain Communities took an aggressive approach to implement safe social distancing measures which have been very effective in slowing the spread of the Coronavirus. Throughout the State, the curve flattened and with rapid testing and contact tracing in place, we are seeing very little evidence of the virus returning. We are optimistic that these measures will be effective so long as we all support this with effective social distancing including face masks.

The CDPHE maintains a comprehensive update on the latest numbers of cases.

Colorado Safer at Home Order

Colorado has slowed the spread of COVID-19 through Stay-at-Home and Safer at Home orders, and we must keep it up. The virus is still present in Colorado and can re-surge at any time. Everyone needs to do their part for themselves, their loved ones, and our community. Right now, we are in Level 2: Safer at Home and in the Vast, Great Outdoors. While we are all still safer at home, we are also able to practice greater social distancing in our vast outdoors than in confined indoor spaces. Much of Colorado is now open with restrictions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and protect those at highest risk for severe illness.

Since June 1

We have been accepting reservations for lodging in Steamboat Springs, Vail, and Beaver Creek and have been delighted to welcome many familiar families back to the mountains.

Most businesses have reopened although restaurants are operating with restricted occupancy for dine-in experiences. Local rules have been relaxed regarding alcohol consumption in public which has enabled restaurants to expand outdoor seating where practical so there is a great street vibe in many places. We are all making the best of our circumstances and rejuvenating with the outdoor experiences that Colorado is famous for.
