Spend the holidays in Steamboat Springs: 2017 Events

Spending your holiday in Steamboat Springs this year?  You'll probably want to make it as festive as possible - starting with your very own Christmas tree. Our dedicted concierge team can coordinate delivery of your very own tree - decorated, or ready for you and your family to decorate upon your arrival.  There are trees of various sizes and a variety of options for decorations (garlands, wreaths, etc.), to make your magical and festive for guests and children.

You may want to consider a catered chalet package for your Christmas dining at home, or a some pre-made meals which we can order for you.  If you'll be eating out (make sure to make reservations well ahead of time), restaurants that would make your Christmas dinner memorable include: Aurum, Cafe Diva, and Harwig's.

Once you have basics like your tree and Christmas meal planned, you'll want to join in on some of the following events to get in the Steamboat holiday spirit:

Steamboat Gondola Square

Come to gondola square and celebrate the holiday season Steamboat Style. See Santa ride down the slopes on horseback and meet Santa at his workshop along with some of his favorite reindeer friends. Participate in the stocking scramble and collect free holiday treats at surrounding stores and restaurants. Additional festivities include cookie decorating and a special holiday concert featuring the Face Vocal Band.

The party continues after dark with a torchlight parade and fireworks followed by night skiing.

Visit with Santa

Bank of the West, 555 Lincoln Ave

Bring your children to Bank of the West and visit with Santa in Santa's Study. Santa also loves letters and lists. Don't forget to bring a camera to get that special shot to send to Grandma and Grandpa.

Visit the Santa House each Saturday on December 3, 10, 17 and 24 from 11am - 2pm.

New Year's Eve Torchlight Parade

The Steamboat Ski & Snowboard School treats tourists and locals to a spectacular on-snow parade down the mountain lit only by torches for this New Year's Eve event.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Start time is determined by sunset - please visit steamboat.com to confirm start time of the event.

Torchlight Parade and Fireworks Details

In conjunction with the torchlight parade, a fireworks display will illuminate the sky providing a perfect ending to the evening. The show is free and great for all ages.

The best viewing is from the pavers at the Steamboat Stage and the Umbrella Bar next to the Bear River Bar & Grill, all adjacent to the Steamboat Gondola.

Korbel® New Year's Eve Party

Join us for a New Year’s Eve celebration at the top of the gondola in Thunderhead Lodge. Dance the night away with DJ entertainment and indulge in a desert bar, chocolate fondue station and small bite appetizers before ringing in 2018 with a Korbel® toast.

Tickets are $50 per person and includes the gondola ride. Cash bar available. Board the gondola at 9:00pm.
