Summer is here and happening!

As the snow quickly disappears and the aspens envelope us in a canopy of green we are reminded that Summer in Steamboat is already here!  That's not bad considering that the ski lifts were still running 6 weeks ago.  To whet your appetite for an escape to the mountains from the summer heat here is what is coming soon:

Yampa River Festival

June 2-3, 2017

Thursday, June 1st: State of the Yampa Address and River Films at the Chief Theater

Friday, June 2nd: Fish Creek Race

Saturday, June 3rd: Riverside Events, based at Charlie’s Hole near the Library

Now in its 37th season, the annual Yampa River Festival raises awareness for and helps to protects the 270-mile Yampa River in Northwest Colorado, the last remaining major, wild river in the seven-state Colorado River basin. This event promises a fun-filled weekend for the whole family, with slalom and downriver races, fun for kids, freestyle competition, 5K Fun Run, the SUP Cup, crazy river dog contest, tubing and raft races and more. 36th Annual Steamboat Marathon, Half Marathon & 10K

Sun. Jun. 4, 2017 7:30 AM - 12:00 PM

All finishes at Routt County Courthouse

Run alongside the roaring Elk River through the emerald green pastures on Country Road 129 with the snow-capped Rocky Mountains of Colorado all around and find out why the Steamboat Marathon was ranked as one of the “Top 10 Destination Marathons in North America.”

Location: 7th and Yampa Street between 6th and 8th

When: Saturday’s Starting June 10 thru September 16th

Market Hours: 9:00 am until 2:00 pm

Vendor Parking : Howelsen Park Ice Arena

Patron parking : Steamboat Rodeo Grounds across the bridge at 5th St and Yampa

The Main Street Steamboat Farmers Market, located on 7th and Yampa streets and the 7the street parking lot, is held on Saturdays from mid-June to Mid September. Our official hours are 9 am to 2 pm but if you are out riding your bike or getting in a quick run before the day’s events, you can usually pick up a cup of coffee, pastry or even a breakfast burrito before the crowds arrive.

Bike Trails

Bike Town USA is open to ride! Emerald Mountain is mostly dry and front side trails are open to ride as are Mad Creek and Hot Springs Trails. It looks like the ski mountain wtrails will be quick to follow.
