Majestic Summers in Vail and Beaver Creek

Piney LakeVail and Beaver Creek are magic in the summertime. Most of us think of powder snow when we consider the Rockies, but those same mountains that bring winter fun deliver an unbelievable experience in the summertime, too.

With fun festivals, outdoor music concerts, mountain biking, fishing, hiking, wildflower-peeping, or just enjoying the stunning greenery of the mountains, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Here are some of our favorite summer activities to enjoy in Vail and Beaver Creek, Colorado:

Biking

Vail and Beaver Creek offer outstanding options for mountain biking, road biking, and gravel riding. With fresh, crisp mountain air, endless blue skies, and surrounding mountains. What better place to enjoy a summer ride?

Hiking

With lush greenery, mountain vistas, and pristine lakes, Vail and Beaver Creek is an ideal location for your summer hikes. With local favorites, such as Village Loop, Piney River Falls, and Gore Creek Trail, there are plenty of choices for your group.

Enjoying the View

Sometimes the best part of visiting the mountains is just being in the mountains. Quiet mornings with a cup of coffee, lunch on a sun-drenched deck, happy hour refreshments, or sunset watching. Take things slow and soak in the beauty of summer.

Moving Mountains' homes are some of the best places to truly enjoy Colorado's summers!

Wildflowers

The best way to experience the glorious summer wildflowers in Colorado is by hitting the trails on your own two feet. Wildflowers peak mid-late July or into August, depending on the year. Our team can give you tips on the best time and best places to catch the wildflowers.

Music & Art Festivals

The Vail Valley is the epicenter for music and arts in the mountains. From Hot Summer Nights to the Vail Jazz Festival, the soundtrack to your summer just got a lot more interesting.

The Vail Dance Festival brings in the New York City ballet among other notable dance companies. The Vilar Center in Beaver Creek hosts a variety of high-caliber summer performances, The Vail Jazz Festival spans different venues and dates culminating in the festival over Labor Day weekend, Vail bluegrass is on select nights in the Solaris Center and Hot Summer Nights is the local and visitor’s favorite rock, soul, blues free concert series throughout the summer on Tuesday nights at the beautiful outdoor pavilion at Ford Amphitheater.

There are the Blues, Brews and BBQ event at the end of May in Beaver Creek and the absolutely delicious Beaver Creek Food & Wine Festival in August. The Sunday Farmer’s Market in Vail is always a foodie favorite and wine hikes are a thing all summer long in Beaver Creek.
