The opening week of the season presents a great opportunity for a unique family gathering in the mountains.

21 - 31 Night Owls for Teens
A chance for teens to hang out with other vacationing teens and enjoy a night at the Vertical Grip climbing gym or tubing at Headwall, followed by a pizza dinner. Offered on Tues and Fri from 6-10pm

25 Christmas

29    Kids "Desperados" Torchlight Parade
A torchlight parade down the Mountain for kids participating in the Ski Week Christmas program (5pm).

31    New Years Eve Torchlight Parade 
Torchlight parade down the Mountain to begin the Millennium New Year celebrations (7pm).

January 2004
5 - 11  The 5th Annual Steamboat MusicFest
The ONLY festival that brings the finest Texas and Americana music to the snow swept Colorado Rockies for a full week of sport and song. Featuring some of the hottest bands in the country headlined by Grammy nominated Pat Green and Cory Morrow. Six Days, 18 bands & one really big tent. Don't miss it. 4 - 8    91st Steamboat Springs Winter Carnival Winter Carnival - the skiing High School Band
The oldest continuing winter festival west of the Mississippi, this a celebration that takes over the town and the mountain.  Racing, Ski jumping, a parade featuring Steamboat's skiing high school band and the legendary Lighted Man and fireworks will show you this town enjoys the winter like no other!

3   Cardboard Classic
This hilarious race marks the coming of Spring and features homemade cardboard "vessels" featuring high tech construction using the latest materials, including Duct Tape!
