      Gondola Opens on weekends (daily from 6/20/02)

Enjoy a ride up the mountain to the Top of Mt Werner - 9,080ft. Take in the spectacular views or ride a mountain bike down one of the many mountain trails.

12 - 14  15th Annual Mustang Round-up
More than 350 Mustang owners from Colorado Mustang clubs will convene in Steamboat for the weekend. Activities include a timed event on Friday and a "Show and Shine" on Saturday. Both events are free and open to the public. For more information, please call (970)879-0880


20- through August 23 - PRCA ProRodeo Series Kick-Off
Friday and Saturday evenings - Professional rodeo cowboys and cowgirls compete for prize money and silver buckles in bareback and saddle bronc riding, calf, steer and team roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing and bull riding (970) 879-0880.

Late June - Mid August: Strings in the Mountains Music Festival

4    100th Annual Cowboy Roundup Days
       and Fourth of July Celebration.

Steamboat Springs shows off its Western heritge during one of the city's longest standing traditions. The festival will include bands, children's activities, rodeos, fireworks and a parade down Lincoln Ave. For more information, please call (970) 879-0880

4   Art on the Mountain
Regional artists displaying and selling their wares at the Gondola Square. Crafts include photography, baskets, candles, jewelry & etched glass.

1 - 3  The 1st annual Storm Peak Thunder
This event will establish itself as a premier event this year. We are pulling out all the stops for this one. The event is being held in conjunction with the annual Steamboat Bike Festival. Proposed events include nightly live music, BMX air shows, road criterium and sprint races, a western style BBQ, and of course world class racing! But it doesn?t stop there.
