- More seats and more daily direct flights.
- A New airport terminal at Steamboat/Hayden (HDN) for 2006-07

On Sale Now!
If you are planning a winter vacation to Steamboat then the time to think about buying your flights is now! Many weekend departures sell out months in advance and the few seats that do remain are often 50% to 100% more expensive than the early purchase rate.

Why is this so important for us? The difference between a fully catered vacation package and a do-it-yourself vacation in one of our luxury homes is often defined by the savings you could make by booking your flights early.

More Seats and more daily direct flights.
The direct flight program will see an 11% increase in seats for winter 2006-07: the largest increase in capacity in the past decade. Growth in the air program is a result of upgrading to daily 737-800 service from Atlanta on Delta Air Lines; converting the current Salt Lake City Delta service from one 737 jet (capacity 128) to two regional CRJ-700 jets (total capacity 140). Furthermore, there will be additional flights over holiday time periods from several markets as well as extend its air program through April 8th. These improvements continue to make Steamboat the most accessible resort in the Rockies and immediately expands options from two critical geographic regions-the West Coast and Southeast.

For the 2006/2007 season, Steamboat is accessible by nonstop air service from eight major U.S. cities on American, Continental, Delta, Northwest and United Airlines in addition to one-stop connecting service from more than 150 other domestic and international cities.

Carrier City Aircraft Frequency Capacity
American Chicago 757 Daily 188
American Dallas/Ft. Worth 757 Daily & Additional Saturday 188
Continental Houston 737-800 Daily & Additional Saturday 155
Continental Newark 737-700 Saturday 124
Delta Atlanta 737-800 Daily 150
Delta Salt Lake City CRJ-700 Two Daily Flights 70
Northwest Minneapolis/St. Paul A-319 Daily 124
United Denver 737-300 Daily 120

A New Airport terminal for 2006-07.
These flights are all nonstop into Steamboat/ Hayden (airport code: HDN), just 22 miles/35kms from the ski area, which has already begun construction of Phase II of a 5-year, $18 million improvement project. Major Phase II improvements, scheduled for completion by December 2006, include doubling the terminal size by adding 23,000+ square feet; creating a spacious ticket lobby with additional counter positions; additional food & beverage options for travelers, including a vendor in the gate area; doubling size of restroom facilities; a new, fully functional, curbside check-in facility; plus an expanded gate area with increased seating.

"The new capital improvements will make this an entirely new airport and bring it in line with the world-class reputation of Steamboat's winter destination experience,? said David Ruppel, Yampa Valley Regional Airport manager. "Don't expect this to be the end of the evolution of the facility either. We will build upon this year's story during Phase III (doubling baggage system) in 2007 as well as with the expected delivery of new electronic surveillance tracking radar in 2008, while continually striving for the highest guest service levels in the mountain community."
